3 Things I’m Grateful For
Omigoodness – yes, this is a gently recycled post, but when I look at last year and this year, I’m blown away. Three things I’m grateful for this year look similar, but vastly different. This year I’m grateful to be alive.
I’m joining the grateful bandwagon. I’m not a joiner, but I do want to express gratitude this time of year, more or less as a year end wrap up. And what’s not to be grateful for? This has been a difficult, but most excellent year. Here are the three things I’m grateful for.
- My Family – this one is easy for many people to say. Most of you, though, don’t know my story this year, or any year. I have a wayward child. We live with mental health challenges on several fronts, in more than one individual. It makes life … interesting. It also pushes me to grow and change in ways my normally complacent self would resist. Strongly. This year has been one of extreme growth and change, due to extreme challenges. Only a small part of it is my story, so I won’t be telling it here. Suffice it to say, I’m grateful for my family and the crucible which happened in my home this last year. I’m a different, stronger, better person because of my tribe. And, believe it or not, I love and enjoy my family far more now than I ever have. It’s a perk of working on myself instead of trying to change those around me.
- My Pets – of which I have many, but especially for Gadget. Many of you know his story, his being found on a roadside near Atlanta last year, going to live with my mother, major surgery, and his eventual rehoming with me because of his personality. I love this little guy so much. He completes our menagerie.
- 3. Jones Natural Chews – it’s easy enough to say, since I work for them, but I truly am grateful for Jones. This isn’t just a job, blogging for Jones. I’ve been embraced by a family run business which is passionate about what they do. They allow me to represent them here on the blog, compensating me for posting silly things, serious things, dog-related topics, non-dog-related topics. I love not only my job, but Jones Natural Chews. Working for them, I’m encouraged to grow and change in my position, expanding my reach, their reach. Being a face and voice of Jones is amazing. This has been a year of professional growth for me, which has never happened before. I love it. I love Jones Natural Chews. And I’m grateful that they produce an amazing product that I have zero hesitation writing about.
