Dog Friends
One of the things I like most about working for Jones Natural Chews is that the boss people don’t take themselves too seriously. Laura, one of the owners and one of my good dog friends, came down to assess the cancer situation and cheer me up. She came bringing friends, which made the situation cheerier. While they were here, I made them do things they wouldn’t normally do at home.
Seriously, though – do you have good friends who are dog friends? You know, dog owners and lovers who get you and your dog crazy? It makes a difference in the friendship, in your conversations. Even when you’re talking about life’s toughest stuff, the dogs factor in. It’s lovely to know and be known at that level.
Laura has four dogs, all large, all hound mixes. Gadget surprised her, tickling her interest in a lap dog. I get that. I think a lot of dog people are either big dog people, or little dog people. Sure, there’s plenty of crossover, but we tend to get stuck in our ideas of what we think we know about dogs. Gadget changes that for big dog people. My dog friends who are big dog people tend to change their minds when they meet him.
Friends for Life
My dog friends who visited go back 30 years. If you can’t be silly with some of your oldest friends, whom can you be silly with? We treated, petted and generally loved on my four dogs, but we also wandered around my fair city of Tulsa, getting into trouble. It’s what friends do.
And eating. The noodle shop at Nam Hai has way cool stone dragons.
Don’t Forget the Treats
In our wanderings, we found feed stores. Southern Ag has a huge display of Jones Natural Chews bones, as well as variety bags on the shelf. Way to represent, Tulsa! Then the cashier went and ruined it when he dissed bones as dead things to give your dog. He was awfully rude for someone who sells meat food and treats for dogs. I think I’ll probably say something next time I go in. It was kinda bizarre. This was as he was ringing up my Crown Knuckle from Jones. Gadget, when we returned and told him the story, didn’t approve. He demanded to see the knuckle.
Giveaway
I didn’t give Gadget the Crown Knuckle, (Chewy commandeers all bones) since there’s no way he could ever get his little mouth around it, but I did offer him a bite of our newest treat, the Bully N Beef. Sadly, Gadget’s tiny mouth couldn’t handle that either. Gadget mostly gets tiny pieces of taffy or jerky from Jones. He takes his time eating even the smallest bits. But that doesn’t mean your dog wouldn’t love the Bully N Beef! In fact, I have it on good authority that your dog would LOVE Jones Natural Chews‘ newest treat! So why don’t you just click on this sentence, then scroll down to the Rafflecopter in the new window and follow the directions to enter the giveaway? Your dog would be so happy! And remember to tweet daily to increase your chances of winning!
Now go! Find your dog friends. Enjoy some time with them. And don’t forget the treats! Your dog friends will appreciate learning about Jones Natural Chews. That’s what friends are for.
