Just because I know all about what goes into a Jones Natural Chew doesn’t mean that you do, right? It’s meat and bones, naturally. And I don’t use the word naturally lightly. After nearly two years of blogging for Jones – and Jones Natural Chews has been around for nearly three decades – I’m still surprised that people haven’t heard about these remarkable treats, and that, if they have, they don’t know what’s in them.

We don’t need to wait until Halloween to see bones. In fact, my living room floor is currently littered with bones.
Every day this sight greets me. Chewy takes all of his bones out of his toy basket. Every day.
What’s In a Bone?
So what comprises a Jones Natural Chew? As to the bones, they’re almost all one and two ingredient treats, completely grown and made in the USA. The single ingredient bones are just baked, meaty bits and all, often with the marrow still intact.
The Pork Femur from Jones is a hardy gnawing treat for small to medium size dogs and non-aggressive chewers. And it’s covered in all natural meaty bits. Meat and bones.
If they’re two ingredient bones, it just means that they’re dipped in an all natural liquid smoke before being baked. Or that it’s something like a Bully Bone – a bully stick wrapped through a center bone. And there are a couple of bones that are stuffed, like the Bandit’s Bone. It’s a five ingredient treat, including the bone and the beef. Did I mention that every single ingredient Jones uses is all natural? No artificial ingredients.

Why do I get so worked up about this? Are you aware of the decision that Petco announced? They’ll no longer be selling treats sourced in China. Personally, I don’t understand why it took seven years and hundreds of dead dogs to make this decision. I don’t understand why anyone at all is still selling dog foods and treats sourced in China, what with the deaths and severe illnesses.
What Sets Us Apart
Jones Natural Chews says a couple of things about their chews that I think are worth reading:
We know you care what you feed your pets. The quality of our products are very important to us here at Jones’. We go out of our way to provide safe and wholesome edible chews and treats for your family members. We have a very severe HACCP (Hazard Analytical Critical Control Point) plan in place. Stringent cleanliness guidelines, product testing (in our in-house lab along with outside laboratories), and product lot code and tracking, are just a few things the HACCP plan covers. … We are inspected once a year by third party audits (AIB International).
So they take great care to ensure quality and safety in every stage of manufacturing. I’ve visited a couple of times and am quite impressed with the measures Jones takes.
All Jones Natural Chews products are grown and made in the USA. The entire manufacturing procedure from start to finish is on the American soil. It is a great honor to have the American Flag on all of our products.

Meaty Treats
I didn’t even get to the meaty treats. They’re mostly just meat, with plenty of them being all meat, single ingredient treats. Like Jones Braided Bully Sticks.
I walk through our local feed store and pick up bully sticks and hooves and things from other companies. They’re sourced from other countries. And even though they look like single ingredient treats, they’re not. It blows my mind. Why on earth would you buy anything other than Jones? Dogs know the difference.
