A little story before I tell you about the treats and giveaway. Jones sends me the monthly treats so I can photograph dogs eating or gnawing them. That’s a fun part of my job, obviously. And sometime in June, Jones sent me a box with beef shanks and Smoked Pig Ears. Ten Smoked Pig Ears. I opened the box, put it up high on Hunny’s dresser, then left for a dinner with someone.

When I got home later that evening, I went looking for the box of treats, so I could cut a Smoked Pig Ear in half to give the little dogs. The box wasn’t on the dresser! It was gone! In fact, it was on the floor! Hunny had set it on the floor without even looking in it. The dogs ate ALL TEN PIG EARS in the couple hours I was gone. ALL TEN. So. I tell you all that so you know that the Other Ear, featured this month, was a last minute purchase at my local Southern Ag feed store. Thank God they carry Jones Natural Chews. Shh! Don’t tell Dee, back at the Jones Natural Chews home office!
So this week we’ll take a look at the Other Ear (it’s a wonderfully fatty little pig chin that makes dogs go WEE WEE WEE). And while we do, say hi to Bones, the Schnauzer puppy who tried one out for me.

Y’all, Bones is a nine week old miniature Schnauzer, little brother to Tiberius. Meet Tiberius, who also gnawed on the Other Ear.

Tiberius’ full name is James Tiberius Kirk. Of course. Three guesses at Bones’ full name, geek friends.

The Other Ear is a great chew for a smaller breed puppy. It’s not very large, so they can handle it, and it’s thick and tough, great for little puppy teeth which are constantly chewing everything. Bones had a great time in the hour I visited, and the Other Ear was still pretty much intact when I left. Had it been one of my 55 pound dogs, they’d have it eaten in about five minutes. But for a miniature Schnauzer puppy? Perfect!

Knowing I was going into a home with miniature Schnauzers, I didn’t bother bringing the Shank Bones. They’re Jones‘ toughest bone, and about the size of little Bones puppy. No way they’d get their tiny mouths around one of those. So we’ll take a look at the Shank Bones next week.

Now! Who wants an Other Ear or a Shank Bone for their dog? I know you do! Your dog wants one, anyway. And I’m trying out the Rafflecopter today for the first time, so bear with me, please. Not quite sure how all of this works. I’m extending the giveaway on this treat until next Friday, the 17th of July, midnight. Just for fun. So tell your friends and fellow dog lovers! Then give your own dog a Jones Natural Chews and watch it smile. Naturally.

Until I write again …
