Jones recently donated treats to an amazing charity organization, for their annual fundraiser. I just had to share. See the name? Mason-Dixon Rescue Dogs? Y’all, at first blush, I thought it was a dog rescue. It’s not. They’re RESCUE DOGS. The coolest kind of dogs on the planet, next to police and military dogs. The kind of dogs that Mr. Taleteller, over at Tales and Tails, trains. Check out their video.
These are the dogs you want on your side if you’re lost in the woods, right? And this organization, Mason-Dixon Rescue Dogs:
Mason-Dixon Rescue Dogs (MDRD) is an all-volunteer, non-profit, search and rescue organization that provides professionally trained canine search and rescue teams to responsible agencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at no cost.
Sweet! Y’all are welcome to pop over and Like their FaceCrack page, if you want to keep up with who they are and what they do. Rescue dogs rock!

Search and rescue dogs truly are fascinating. They’re not used simply for people lost in the woods. Head to Tales and Tails to get a more detailed description of what rescue dogs do. She has a search bar on the right side and you can just type in “rescue”. Interesting reading, with plenty of great photos.
As for the donations, Jones sends donations to charity organizations (dog related ones) every month. I’m told that they have a set number of treats they’re able to send, but that people don’t ask, so they tend to stay under that number. So! That’s what I’m here for! Here’s the criteria for sending treat donations to a charity, in case your organization is having a to-do and would like to request treats from Jones Natural Chews.
- The organizations 501(c)(3) info
- Event flyer
- Address for shipping
- Sufficient notice prior to event, at least two to three months
And here’s a bonus – if you send the request to me first (flea at jonesnaturalchews dot com), as well as include the organization’s web address, I’ll do my best to blog about the event before it happens. No promises, but I’ll do my level best. I’ll at least mention it, especially if you’ve already blogged about it first. Because FUN! It’s a party! You just have to remind me. Otherwise, your requests for donations should go to Dee, with above information included. Email address is – info at jonesnaturalchews dot com.
I hope that this information finds the people and charities which need it. I hate to think of dog treats available and not being put to good use. If you’re working with or familiar with a local dog charity, please forward this information to them? I’m thinking they’ll appreciate knowing.
Until I write again …
Flea
