We attended the Renaissance Faire this weekend. Took our daughter for her birthday, as well as my mom. A good time was had by all! And – surprise, surprise – there was a dog show! The Karma Dogma Show!
Y’all, I haven’t had this much fun in a long time. Karma is a Boston Terrier, nearly eight years old.
She’s the performing dog, working for treats. Her buddy, Hooch, is a five year old Mastiff/Boxer mix. He’s the brawn.
The whole purpose of the Karma Dogma show is to educate. Karma’s mom is licensed and trained as a dog educator. She travels to fairs giving shows. She taught her audience how to train dogs, use a clicker for training, the proper size treats to give dogs (tiny pieces work for any and all size dogs – I could have hugged her for that), that a tired dog is a good dog. Miss Karma herself did a ton of tricks and was quite happy to do them. It was a great show! And then …
I didn’t expect to see a dog show at a Renaissance faire. The owl and eagle, yes. The jousting, yes. But this made the day worth the price of admission.
I didn’t have cash to tip the Karma Dogma Show (Karma retrieved each and every bill and dropped them in a basket), but I did have a couple of Woofers in my purse, which I handed to Karma’s mom. Having Jones Natural Chews in one’s purse at all times is a good idea. Speaking of which, I need to replace them before I leave the house today.
Now y’all go have a great day! And give your dog some Jones Natural Chews. It’ll make ’em smile. Naturally. And like the Karma Dogma Show on FaceCrack. That’ll make Karma smile.
Until I write again …
