Today we feature the all natural Lamb Shank Bone from Jones! It’s 100% all natural (a single ingredient treat with no artificial ingredients), and 100% USA raised lamb.

I brought some Lamb Shank Bones this weekend when I visited with some of the cutest dogs on the planet this weekend. Check it out.

I was taking photos of the wee French Bulldog and her parents for a breeder friend. I fell in love. The mama dog had a major sniff fest with the plastic wrapped Lamb Shank Bones. So while I’ll be talking about Jones’ amazing bones, you’ll be oogling the French eye candy. Deal?

Let’s begin with which dogs can have the Lamb Shank Bone and which can’t. The lamb shank is a bone meant for a small dog, or a light chewer. Maybe an older dog who doesn’t tear bones up anymore, but still wants one from time to time. The Lamb Shank Bone is perfect for Chewy, my ten pound Affenpinscher mix. And probably for this beautiful French Bulldog, too.

Jones has this to say about the bone:
Our succulent bone is perfect for small to medium dogs that aren’t an aggressive chewer. Natural Liquid smoke and meaty treats left on the bone makes every dog’s mouth start to water. This lamb shank was known as the lamb mammoth at one point and is a whole USA lamb shank bone, with knuckles on each end, from the front leg.
Crude protein min, 39%; Crude fat min, 13%; Crude fiber max, 3%; Moisture max, 9%
Doesn’t that sound scrumptious? Most small dogs will jump at the chance to nom this bone. The French Bulldog is the perfect size dog for this perfect size bone.

And what else do I need to tell you about the Lamb Shank Bone? Just the usual song and dance:
- Always supervise a dog with a bone – Jones slow bakes their bones to perfection, but all bones (raw and cooked) have the ability to splinter – take the bone away if it’s small enough to fit completely in your dog’s mouth, and throw away splintered pieces immediately
- Bones are gnawing treats, not eating treats, meant to be great for teeth and gums, as well as good busy work for bored dogs and chewing puppies
- Treats are dessert, not dinner – never give a dog a treat on an empty stomach – they’ll eat too much too quickly, and they’re not designed to be food
- Jones bones are the best bones – you already knew that, though, didn’t you? 😉
If you’re looking for Jones Natural Chews locally, mom and pop pet shops, specialty dog stores and feed stores are all great places to find them. For instance, Atwoods feed store near me carries a lot of Jones product, as do other Atwoods stores. Some of the newer dog boutiques know that Jones is the best and are special ordering the product. If you can’t find Jones near you, drop me a line and I’ll do my best to find a store near you. Otherwise there’s Natural Dog Treat Shop, which carries all of the Jones line. They rock, too.

So have a great Tasty Tuesday! And come back tomorrow for a peek at a rescued designer dog!
Until I write again …
