Westminster 139th Dog Show

Westminster Kennel Club is holding their 139th dog show in a couple of weeks at Madison Square Garden in New York City. A couple of years ago an ugly Affenpinscher won best of show.

Here’s the deal – Jones Natural Chews is sending me to New York to attend the 13th annual dog show put on by the Westminster Kennel Club. And I am SO EXCITED.

Senior Affenpinscher face — Scout the Affenpinscher is excited, too. He thinks he’s going to ride there in my lap and win best of show. I’m not telling him otherwise.

A lot of my friends watch this show every year, and I remember watching a couple of times as a kid, again as an adult, but I no longer have a television. So it looks like I’m just going to have to go watch it in person. Poor me.

So I need help from y’all. Serious help. First, this country mouse is going to the big city and has no clue who to talk to or what to ask in the way of questions. Who do I look for? What questions do y’all want me to ask of whom?

Treat meme — Not that kind of question, Chewy. There are plenty of treats. I was just kidding.

Second, and y’all can only help with suggestions here, but what do I wear?!? I have no idea.

Funny Bone Monday? Or Mullet Monday? You decide! — Hmm. I’m thinking this beard hat, cute as it is, is a NO. Dang it. It keeps my face warm. Huge thanks to Dawn for the beard hat. 🙂

I’M SO EXCITED! Yes. My biggest regret is that I can’t bring Jimmy.

I mean, that I can’t bring Chewy.

Affen mutt at the ready - ready to snooze — This is Chewy’s best pose for the camera. He’s trying to prove that he can be best in show, just like Banana Joe.

Chewy is an Affenpinscher, after all. And I regret that I can’t bring a purse full of Jones chews. I hear that breeders and show people are very picky about their treats. Not that they wouldn’t love Jones chews – they so totally would – but they’ll be in the zone those couple of days and won’t be receptive to anything new or different. I sure as heck wouldn’t.
